  • Normalized the Data: Developed a system named PACMAN (Performance and Capacity Management) that normalizes various factors affecting lab output.

  • Enhanced Diagnostics: Made it straightforward to pinpoint discrepancies between predicted and actual output.

  • Informed Decision-Making: Provided management with clear insights, reducing the need for guesswork and preventing potential overcorrection or exacerbation of issues.

The gem and jewelry industry needed a programmatic way to access accurate diamond grading report information to facilitate trade.

  • System Engineering: Developed a microservice that natively runs in the cloud, ensuring scalability and security.

  • Statistical Process Control: The program was deeply rooted in Statistical Process Control Theory. Control charts helped management detect changes in output quality.

  • Performance Metrics: Instituted metrics for assessing both overall laboratory performance and individual employee performance, which were essential for ethical and actionable staff reviews.

  • Management Tools: Developed reports, training, and processes to help management drive the metrics.
